CTR SHIELD

Here is a fun tutorial on how to make your own CTR shield out of cute fabric!

Use it on any of our scripture cover or tote patterns... If you buy a pattern, there is a CTR template included for free!

Materials needed:

CTR Template (included in your pattern for free).  you cab buy these in my etsy shop separately.
Freezer paper
exacto knife
cutting board
fabric
fray check
fabric paint
paint brush
fabric scissors
pencil
iron
Sewing machine (if you don't sew, you can do THIS!)

1. Take your CTR template (included in your pattern) and trace it with a pencil onto freezer paper- shiny side down.

2. Take an exacto knife and cut out the letters carefully.
Take your time.

3. Be sure to save the hole part of the letter R.

4.This is how it should look right after you cut it out.
 5. Now trace with pencil your two sizes of shields (also included in your pattern) onto freezer paper or cardstock. Cut them out and trace onto the back side of your fabrics.
 6. You should have two sizes of fabric shields now.

7. Add Fray Check to the entire edges of both shields.
Let them dry a bit.

8. Center your letters over the smaller shield

9. Add the piece that fits into the letter R.
Make sure the shiny side of the little piece is facing down like the rest of the freezer paper should be :)

10. Now iron carefully for about 20-30 seconds.
The freezer paper will stick to the fabric.

11. Let it cool down. Add some paint.

 12. Take your brush and spread the paint evenly over all the letters.

13. Let it dry completely.

14. Once it is dry, peel off the freezer paper

15. Put the smaller shield on top of the larger shield and sew them together (you would sew right along the edge of the blue shield above). You can add it to your cover or tote by sewing it on  :)

So easy and definitely a cute embellishment.
